Join the Westbridge Junior Academy
Westbridge Athletic FC have opened registrations for the Junior Academy ahead of the new season.
The programme is designed for young players who want to improve their football skills, build confidence and develop in a positive team environment.
Whether a player is taking their first steps in organised football or already has experience with a local team, the Academy provides an opportunity to learn, train and progress with support from the Westbridge coaching team.
Development comes first
The Junior Academy focuses on long-term player development rather than short-term results.
Training sessions are built around the key areas young players need to progress:
- ball control and first touch
- passing and receiving
- movement and positioning
- decision-making
- teamwork and communication
- confidence in possession
- fitness and coordination
The aim is to help every player improve at their own pace while enjoying the game and becoming a stronger, more confident footballer.
A positive team environment
Creating the right environment is an important part of the Academy.
Players are encouraged to work hard, support their teammates and enjoy the process of improving together.
Sessions are designed to be challenging but enjoyable, giving young players the opportunity to learn through structured coaching, small-sided games and realistic football situations.
Opportunities for different age groups
The Junior Academy is intended to support a range of youth age groups, with players grouped appropriately according to age, experience and development level.
This allows coaches to create sessions that are suitable for each group and gives players the opportunity to train alongside others at a similar stage of their football journey.
Specific age-group availability will depend on the number of registrations received for the season.
What parents can expect
Parents and guardians will receive clear information about training sessions, fixtures and any relevant club updates.
The club aims to create a supportive relationship between players, coaches and families, helping young footballers enjoy their experience both on and off the pitch.
Further details regarding training schedules, age groups and season arrangements will be shared during the registration process.
Register your interest
Families interested in joining the Westbridge Junior Academy can now register their interest for the upcoming season.
Places may be limited within individual age groups, so early registration is recommended.
